Jesper Holmén Notander

Note! Since January 2016 I no longer work at the Department of Computer Science.

I am a Ph.D. Student in the Software Engineering Research Group (SERG) at the Department of Computer Science at Lund University Faculty of Engineering, Sweden. I participate in the SSF sponsored research project Enabling Growing Software Systems (ENGROSS), which is a collaboration between the Dept. Automatic Control, Dept. Mathematics and Dept. Computer Science.

I began my Ph.D. in March 2010. Before that I spent two years in Linköping, Sweden, as a software consultant at Saab Aerosystems working with safety-critical and real-time software development in the aerospace field. I did my master thesis as an intern at ABB Corporate Research, Ladenburg, Germany. The thesis aimed at developing an algorithm for instructed learning of an industrial robot, it was part of the EU project SMErobots.

Research Interests

I am interested in the challenges arising form introducing flexibility in the design of safety-critical software. More specifically I would like to investigate if system safety can be achieved by using software instead of hardware.
