CS MSc Thesis Presentation December 18 at 14:15!

2017-11-08

One MSc thesis to be presented on December 18, 2017.

December 18 one MSc thesis will be presented at the Department of Computer Science.

The presentation will take place in the E-house in room E:2405 (Glasburen). Please note the change of location!

Note to potential opponents: Register as opponent to the presentation by sending an email to the examiner (firstname.lastname@cs.lth.se). Do not forget to specify the presentation you register for! Note that the number of opponents may be limited (often to two), so you might be forced to choose another presentation if you register too late. Registrations are individual, just as the oppositions are! More instructions are found on this page.

ABSTRACT

Because of improved manufacturing technology, the number of components that can be included on a single chip is increasing over time. One efficient way to connect the components is through a packet switched network, a Network on Chip. Such a network is defined by many parameters. An effective way to explore the large design space is by simulation. In this project, we have developed a network description language to define the network of a mobile GPU. As part of this process, we have surveyed several available simulators. We have implemented support for the language in a mobile GPU simulator. We have also implemented a script that outputs a visual representation of networks defined in the network description language. The purpose of the project has been to develop tools to make Network on Chip modeling faster, easier, more flexible, and less error prone. The result was evaluated through both qualitative and quantitative assessment.
