Björn Johnsson

Björn Johnsson obtained both his MSc and PhD in Computer Science from Lunds University in 2011 and 2017 respectively. He is currently working part-time as a researcher at the Department of Computer Science at the same university. His research interests include Pervasive Systems and Internet of Things with applications in the domain of e-health; methods and practices for development of systems for professional use, including agile and iterative methods, with focus on applications for mobile devices; technologies and tools that speed up and simplify the engineering of applications, targeted but not limited to include application end-users.

Dr. Johnsson is co-founder of the e-health start-up itACiH – a spin-off company of the VINNOVA-funded project by the same name. The original vision of the project was to increase the quality-of-life for cancer patients by allowing them to be treated in their homes; the company has since branched out to include additional medical conditions, e.g. renal failure, and provides innovative products for operational support at health-care clinics.
