Inlämning via mail

I många av våra kurser använder vi ett system, SAM, för att hantera inlämningar av uppgifter på kurser. Uppgifterna lämnas in via mail.

The subject row must be formatted as follows:

  • the subject row is divided in two parts, the fist part contains the activity name and the second a list of student user names
  • the two parts are separated by the word by, or av
  • the user names are separated by and, or och, or any non word or digit character, i.e comma or space
  • you may write anything before the activity name, i.e. it is ok to leave "re: " added by your mail client when replying to a mail
  • there may not be any characters after the list of students

The syntax for the subject row is:  <any text> <activity name> [by|av] <student user name> ([and|och] <non digit letter>* <student user name>)*

example: "re:Assignment 3 by d08xhj, d08gp3, and d08fjh", or "Assignment 3 av d08xhj d08gp3 och d08fjh"

  • the case is ignored when comparing activity names and student user ids, i.e. report and Report are equivalent activity names
  • the activity name with the longest name contained in the subject is matched
Example: If there are two activities "assignment" and "assignment part 2" then any subject containing the text "assignment part 2" is correctly matched. The text "assignment part 3" will be matched by "assignment" and "part", "3" is interpreted as students.

NOTE! short activity names might match a user name and cause a parse error, example: activities in the course: D0, R the subject "R by d0ab, d0cd" will give the match: ignored chars: "report by", matched activity: "d0", users: "ab", "d0cd"
