November 2009 update

  • The work on extending the existing CAL front-end has continued. This work is carried out together with Ericsson and people from the ACTORS project.
  • The architecture that is being developed at EIT has been chosen as the primary target platform for mapping and code generation. Initial discussions have taken place and we have started to understand which changes needs to be done both the mapping and the architecture for our common goals.
  • The work on scheduling and buffer minimization for synchronous data-flow CAL models using constraint programming and JaCoP library has been explored in cooperation with ACTORS project.
  • Jan Kasper Martinsen, Ph.D. student at BTH, has got his first paper on thread-level speculation for JavaScript accepted at the 2nd Swedish Workshop on Multicore Computing, MCC-09, held at Uppsala University in November 2009.
  • An initial pre-study is currently done on finding a suitable existing JavaScript Engine to integrate thread-level speculation techniques into. Google’s V8 and Mozilla’s SpiderMonkey/TraceMonkey are the two main candidates.
  • Håkan Grahn, BTH, is a program committee member for the 2nd Swedish Workshop on Multicore Computing, MCC-09, held at Uppsala University in November 2009.
