May 2009 update

• BTH has recruited a PhD student to theme C. The PhD student will start September 1
• Alma Orucevic-Alagic has completed the first round of analysis of a case study on the transformation from proprietary to open source. The findings have been summarized in a paper that has been submitted to ESEM09.
• The systematic review of open source software development in commercial organizations has been continued and is ongoing.
• Alma Orucevic-Alagic is following an individual PhD course on open source software development. The results of the case study, as mentioned above, and the more general findings from the PhD course were presented to the same group at SEMC as where initial interviews were conducted earlier.
• A meeting has been held with Sony Ericsson where Sebastian Barney’s work was presented.
• A meeting is scheduled with Sony Ericsson in mid-June where Sebastian´s work, area for the new PhD student and the theme C in general will be discussed.
• The objective is to have a meeting with ABB as soon as possible to capture their interest in relation to theme C and in particular in relation to the newly recruited PhD student.
