The Department of Computer Science is part of LTH, Lund University Faculty of Engineering, at Lund University. The department conducts education and research in computer science.

The department has approximately 90 employees and an annual turnover of approximately SEK 130 million. The department's main activities are conducted in the E-house on the LTH campus in Lund, but the department also has activities at Campus Helsingborg.

We educate students in several different civil and higher engineering programmes and are one of LTH's largest departments in terms of education, with approximately 6,800 enrolled students.

The Department of Computer Science has four research divisions:

  • Parallel Systems
  • Software Systems
  • Software Engineering
  • Robotics and Semantic Systems.

The Robotics and Semantic Systems division also includes Robotlab LTH, a research infrastructure in robotics, which the department runs together with the Department of Control.

The department is involved in around fifty different research projects and collaborates both nationally and internationally with other research groups, industry and the business community. Some of the department's larger projects are the strategic research area ELLIIT, the WASP research programme and the NextG2Com competence centre.
