Research centers
The department of Computer Science participates in the following research centers
WASP - Wallenberg AI, Autonomous Systems and Software Program
Wallenberg AI, Autonomous Systems and Software Program (WASP) is Sweden’s largest individual research program ever, a major national initiative for strategically motivated basic research, education and faculty recruitment. The program addresses research on artificial intelligence and autonomous systems acting in collaboration with humans, adapting to their environment through sensors, information and knowledge, and forming intelligent systems-of-systems. Software is the main enabler in these systems, and is an integrated research theme of the program.
WASP involves five Swedish universities: Chalmers, KTH, Linköping University, Lund University, and Umeå University together with numerous Swedish industries. At Lund University the following four departments participate: Department of Automatic Control, Department of Computer Science, Department of Electrical and Information Technology, and the Matematical Imaging Group at the Department of Mathematics.

ELLIIT - Excellence Center at Linköping - Lund on Information Technology
ELLIIT is one of the Swedish National Strategic Research Areas (SFO), receiving funding from VINNOVA/VR. It involves four Swedish universities: Linköping University, Lund University, Halmstad University, and Blekinge Institute of Technology (BTH). At Lund University, the following four departments participate: Department of Automatic Control, Department of Computer Science, Department of Electrical and Information Technology, and the Department of Mathematics.
The department of Computer Science currently participates with the following PIs: Görel Hedin (member of the ELLIIT board), Jörn Janneck (ELLIIT recruitment), Emelie Engström (ELLIIT postdoc), Per Runeson, Michael Doggett.
