Title: AI/ML Applications in Communication Networks

Speaker: Dr. Thomas Sandholm, CableLabs, USA.

Abstract:
In this talk I will present some of my recent research addressing common problems in communication systems, such as provider selection, and user association, with the help of ML techniques. I will also cover testing and privacy challenges of systems deploying ML.

Bio:
Thomas Sandholm currently works as a Principal Architect at CableLabs in Santa Clara, California, USA. He is interested in applications of AI/ML in distributed systems. Past contribution areas include resource allocation, recommender systems, privacy, and human-computer interaction in mobile networks; Grid and Cloud computing systems; and social networks. He holds a PhD in Computer and Systems Sciences from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. He worked for HP Labs in the US for 10 years and was a visiting researcher at LTH in 2012, and at KAIST, Korea in 2013.

The talk will be around 45 minutes, and then there will be time for questions and discussions. Thomas is also available in the afternoon for discussions.
