Title: A System for Search and Rescue Missions
Examiner: Flavius Gruian
Supervisor: Per Andersson (LTH)
Search and rescue missions are important, they aim at mobilising volunteers to search for a missing person. To aid such missions, a digital utility can improve the efficiency and speed of communication. In this talk I present a survey of best practises constrained to two design choice questions related to scalability and performance that can be used by search and rescue organizations to develop their own systems. The best practises are combined into a prototype which experiments are conducted on for analysis. Finally, I discuss my findings and the results. I conclude that the recommendations have the potential to aid developers of a new search and rescue mission system.
